CHIMERA is named after the hybrid creature in Greek mythology - a lion with a goat's head on its back and a serpent for a tail. This collaborative, cross-cultural exhibition project will present a diverse array of work from Australian and German artists to suggest that rather than being a strictly formal and canonical activity, the contemporary practice of abstraction is borne from a multifarious mixture of ideas, influences, methods and materials.
